Blood Magic — Frilled¶
Frilled is the Blood Magic bloodline concerned with presence and display. Frilled lizards can be friendly or frightening in the same breath — Frilled-bonded Qnassi lean toward sudden reversals of mood and momentum.
Threads (Frilled)¶
- Threat Display — a sudden, unmistakable show of danger.
- Startling Burst — a lunge or flare that creates an opening.
- Blazing Frill — a shift in color, posture, or heat that changes how a scene reads.
Base Ka Cost (Frilled)¶

Targeting Groups¶
Overwhelming displays may affect groups using Group TD rules.
Channeling Difficulty (Frilled)¶
Modifiers: - Target is already wary or expecting a display: +2 - In total darkness or without a clear sightline: +4 (Frilled Threads are visual by nature) - Against a target that cannot perceive the display at all: unusable
Burn¶
Burn may be taken to: - force a display to land despite disbelief or resistance - extend a startled or frozen reaction for one more exchange - layer a second display type (color and posture together) into a single action
Design Notes¶
- Frilled is Blood Magic's social and reactive bloodline — it doesn't hit harder, it changes what a scene does next.
- A Frilled-bonded Qnassi should feel unpredictable to those who don't know them: charming one moment, alarming the next.
